LCLS Proves 100–400 Attosecond Hard X-Ray Pulses With Copper Fluorescence

SLAC's X-ray laser has produced ~9 keV pulses of 100–400 attoseconds. The new part is the diagnostic: nanofocused pulses drive amplified emission in copper, and that emission gives the duration.
