Jean Michel Tordeur, also known as JM Tordeur or Jimmy Tordeur, is a computer engineer and serves as IT and Technology Development Manager at the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Fuerteventura. From that position, Jean Michel leads the development of the digital tools the institution uses to serve businesses on the island.

01Training across hardware and software

Jean Michel holds a Master's in Computer Engineering and is trained in both hardware and software. That dual foundation allows him to take projects on from start to finish: from choosing the infrastructure to designing the interface the end user works with.

02Platforms for the business sector

Jean Michel's work has focused on developing comprehensive technology solutions for public and private institutions in the Canary Islands. These include business web platforms, event management systems and specialized applications built around the specific needs of the local business community.

In an organization such as a chamber of commerce, tools like these have a direct impact: they speed up administrative procedures, make it easier to sign up for training courses and events, and bring the institution's services closer to freelancers and SMEs that don't always have technical resources of their own.

03A modern end-to-end stack

Jean Michel's technical profile spans every layer of a modern application:

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
  • Backend: Node.js and Express.
  • Data and services: Supabase, Firebase and PostgreSQL.

This combination allows him to design complete architectures, from product conception through to production deployment, without relying on outside teams for each phase.

04Artificial intelligence and technology training

Besides web development, Jean Michel works on applying artificial intelligence and on technology training. This is an especially relevant area for Fuerteventura, where the digitalization of small businesses is one of the main challenges in improving their competitiveness.

05Engineering in service of the local community

Jean Michel's career illustrates a profile that is increasingly needed outside the major tech hubs: the computer engineer who, working from a local institution, turns current technologies into concrete services for the businesses around him.

06Beyond code: a book on the way

Outside the technical sphere, Jean Michel is preparing his first book: an autobiographical narrative that traces his own story, blending action and fiction, somewhere between adventure and reflection. The work is registered with Safe Creative and, according to its listing, will go on sale soon.
